Thank you for this post! I want to write in total agreement with this. The spiritual bond of sisterhood in Christ is so strong that no man can separate! What a wonderful God we have to bless us with friends like this on earth to prepare us for our heavenly home in glory! Praising God!

I think for me the whole lack of water thing took me straight back to Uganda and while we did have water for ourselves, we took time to see how far some people needed to walk to get water and even carried water back to better see what people all over the world go through for water... and if they're fortunate, clean water.

I guess what I've learnt or been reminded of is how fortunate I am to have clean water, electricity, heating and so much more and to be thankful for those blessings in my life, but also reflecting on how best to improve these basic needs for others around the world.

I had no qualms about anna getting the mmr. The health visitors, doctors etc here are very open that children may suffer slight symptoms following it but i feel that is a small price to pay to avoid these serious illnesses. It's horrible to watch your child sick but a few days of rattiness in exchange for wiping out measles and mumps and safety in future pregnancies for our little girls? No debate at all! Will be taking Cerys when the time comes too. Love your blog by the way! :)

I recently had a conversation with a parent whose son (C) has suffered from Krohn's all his life. C is now 19 and having to make decisions on treatment by following the doctor's advice and his parents not being allowed into the meetings discussing all this. C urged the doctor to include his dad in the meetings and thankfully his consultant agreed because the dad is a doctor. However what the doctor told his dad ended up being confusing and left out some detail too that would have been critical in C making decisions and understanding better.

I may not have kids but from going with parents on journeys like this I get a bit of an insight into the hurt that is caused to parents when trying to do what is best but not being fully aware of the consequences, the hurt caused when a trust and a faith is somewhat betrayed or perhaps not what it was thought to have been.

Hope T's well over it all now and that you and Grib have recovered too!

I have enjoyed reading your book reviews but especially this one. I totally agree with what you said about prison officers being overlooked and that more should be done in remembrance of those officers. After my reading of this review I would very much like to read this book.

I would like to recommend a Christian novel to you. It is called "How Sleep The Brave.". I do not know if you have read it before but if you enjoy novels you will really enjoy this. If you want I will lend you it for a while

Yours Faithfully

I totally agree Andrew. I think the degree and PGCE needs to be looked at.

Why should someone who has studied business for 4 years be deemed higher qualified than say someone who has ran a business for 20 years ?

thanks Lila your thoughts are very (this sounds so awkward) but very thought provoking. I understand fully the dileama about wanting the best for your children but also making sure that it is in God's will also. As you know we opted for Christian Education and I have been through both Christian and secular and can see the benefits of both. It is nice to know that what we are trying to teach the kids at home is carried on in their school life which is one of the reasons we sent them, some have hinted to us thatbwe took the easy way out and should have sent them to the local primary where they could learn to take the 'stand' for God and not be such a shock when they leave at 16 and that we are forcing too much gospel on them and eventually they will rebel, but they can never be told about the gospel too often. Really enjoying your blogs!

Hi :) I just saw a link to a post on your site on facebook and decided to investigate! Read through this series so far and just wanted to say thanks, I really enjoyed what i've read. Society today completely disregards the biblical role and purpose of women.
I love that thought about the woman being. created out of a man's side so that she fits perfectly under his arm. I think Matthew Henry said something to that effect - it's a lovely quote!
Anyway this has been a bit of a ramble but I mainly just wanted to let you know that i found your posts helpful and I'll be back to read more :)
