Hello friends, I’ve been MIA for a couple of weeks – the beautiful weather distracted me and then MORE sickness (cue sympathy please). But I’m here today, albeit in PJ’s, finishing this blog post that I started two weeks ago. It’s a little off topic from normal but I still think it’s useful for many of you. I’ve talked before about making money from home, but today I want to share some great resources focused on Making Money Online.
Having children costs money. Not to be negative or put anyone off having a family, but the truth is that the more children you have the more it will cost you financially. For many families, the financial pressure of raising children can be an ever present worry. Working outside the home may not be the best option for all parents. Childcare costs are on the rise and many parents enjoy being stay-at-home parents and all the things that go along with it.
However, just because you can’t/don’t want to work outside the home, doesn’t mean you are limited in your earning capacity. There are many ways to earn money and today I want to discuss making money online. I am NOT an expert on this, in any way, but I love to read and learn new things, and over the past year I have sourced some really good quality advice on making money and making an impact online. Below is a list of great resources that I think are good starting point for anyone who is starting from scratch (although the reality is that you probably know more than you think you know lol). Most of these resources are completely free and any that cost money are totally worth it, in my opinion. If you already run a business or make money from home, you might find these will help expand your reach and increase earnings.
- If you’re interested in starting a blog, which can be a great way to help people while also earning an income for yourself, I recommend watching Michael Hyatt’s video on ‘How to Launch a Self Hosted WordPress Blog in 20 minutes or less‘ – it doesn’t get much simpler than this!
- Michael Hyatt also has a membership site called Platform University. This is a fee paying monthly subscription website and I have enjoyed being part of it since last year. They open enrolment twice a year, so if you’re interested, get on to their mailing list to receive updates.
- Podcasts are a great way to learn new skills if you don’t have loads of time to read. My top 3 podcasts for anyone interested in making money online are
Pat Flynn – Smart Passive Income.
Amy Porterfield – Online Marketing Made Easy
Darren Rowse – Pro Blogger
- If you have a business and want to expand into Facebook Ads to sell your products or services, you should look up Kim Garst at Boom Social. She has a lot of free courses and all her content is up to date, which is really important on these sorts of topics.
These are the main resources I use. There are a few books I recommend also,
This post is a little off topic – apologies – but hopefully it’s of some use to someone 🙂 I’m away to enjoy our last 3 days before school starts back 🙂
