Sometimes you just need a wee day off. For stay-at-home parents this is a little bit more problematic than you would imagine. To be honest, I’m not great at just leaving the children and indulging myself but yesterday thats exactly what I did! Hubby and I left the children with grandparents and headed down to Belfast for the NI Coffee festival. With neither a nappy nor a wipe in sight we had the best guilt-free day of relaxing fun we’ve had in a long time. Starting with a lovely brunch, a stroll around the festival, ALOT of tasty purchases, a coffee crawl around Belfast and a trip to the DOCK market we really made the most of being on our own. I can highly recommend the Coffee Festival, I really hope it returns next year! Not just for coffee lovers, the selection of speciality food and Tea vendors was really impressive! We probably spent more than we intended but the produce was lovely and totally worth it. We came home with 4 different types of tea, a box of donuts, lovely gluten free/nut free traybakes and cakes, a jar of chutney, marmalade, 3 types of speciality chocolate and popcorn! Not to mention our trip to DOCK market where we snapped up a few lovely bits n bobs for the house! Part of our coffee crawl meant a trip to Established (beside St Annes cathedral – well worth a visit), where we picked up a couple of bags of coffee. Awesome day all in. Of course the children had a great day too – so it was win win for everyone.
